Dehydrocondensation of 1 - hexanol to di - n - hexyl ether ( DNHE ) on Amberlyst 70

چکیده
Conversion, selectivity, yield and kinetics of 1-hexanol liquid phase dehydrocondensation to di-n-hexyl ether (DNHE) were determined at 150-190 oC on the thermally stable resin Amberlyst 70 in a batch reactor. At 190oC, 1-hexanol conversion of about 71 %, with selectivity to ether of 87 % was obtained after 6-h reaction time. A kinetic model stemming from an Eley-Rideal mechanism in which 1-hexanol from the liquid phase reacts with 1-hexanol adsorbed on a single centre to give water adsorbed on a single site represents data suitably. Activation energy was computed to be 130 kJ/mol

Kinetic study of 1 - butanol dehydration to 1 di - n - butyl ether over Amberlyst 70
8 Kinetics of the catalytic dehydration of 1-butanol to di-n-butyl ether (DNBE) over 9 Amberlyst-70 was investigated. Experiments were performed in liquid phase at 4 MPa and 10 413-463 K. Three elementary reaction mechanisms were considered: a Langmuir‐Hinselwood‐ 11 Hougen‐Watson (LHHW) formulation; an Eley-Rideal (ER) formulation in which DNBE 12 remains adsorbed; an ER formulation in which w...
متن کاملEtherification of Glycerol with Propylene or 1-Butene for Fuel Additives
The etherification of glycerol with propylene over acidic heterogeneous catalysts, Amberlyst-15, S100, and S200 resins, produced mono-propyl glycerol ethers (MPGEs), 1,3-di- and 1,2-di-propyl glycerol ethers (DPGEs), and tri-propyl glycerol ether (TPGE). The propylation of glycerol over Amberlyst-15 yielded only TPGE. The glycerol etherification with 1-butene over Amberlyst-15 and S200 resins p...
متن کاملStudy of phenolic and volatile composition of white wine during fermentation and a short time of storage
The phenolic composition including hydroxybenzoic acids, hydroxycinnamic acids and flavan-3-ols was identified and quantified in all studied samples by using a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system coupled with diode array detection. Gallic, protocatechuic, p-coumaric and vanillic acids were the major phenolic substances in grape juice, whereas caffeic acid was the...
متن کاملEvolution of the aroma volatiles of pear fruits supplemented with fatty acid metabolic precursors.
To examine the biochemical metabolism of aroma volatiles derived from fatty acids, pear fruits were incubated in vitro with metabolic precursors of these compounds. Aroma volatiles, especially esters, were significantly increased, both qualitatively and quantitatively, in pear fruits fed on fatty acid metabolic precursors. Cultivars having different flavor characteristics had distinctly differe...
متن کاملOptimization of enzymatic esterification of dihydrocaffeic acid with hexanol in ionic liquid using response surface methodology
BACKGROUND Developing an efficient lipophilization reaction system for phenolic derivatives could enhance their applications in food processing. Low solubility of phenolic acids reduces the efficiency of phenolic derivatives in most benign enzyme solvents. The conversion of phenolic acids through esterification alters their solubility and enhances their use as food antioxidant additives as well...
